Yoga: Bringing mindfulness to your daily activities – are you holding your breath?

One of the most important effects that yoga can have on our daily life is bringing awareness to the present moment. This essentially brings us freedom. How? By being aware of our breath.

Did you hold yours? I know that I did for the first half before realising that the movement in my belly had stopped! Usually, when our breath has stopped, so has our ability to flow.  A tension exists in the body signified by the shallow or halted breath which reflects tension or an unwillingness to be in the present moment. Relax, breathe and you will be in the flow.
