Beauty: Mad for Manuka, my new magic clay mask

Magic Manuka Mask £5.99 30ml (enough for 2 to 3 applications)

I was playing with a recipe today because I wanted to find a way of using manuka honey.  The reason? It’s super skin food love.  There is little that beats it in terms of benefits and combined with Rhassoul Clay (see below), orange flower water, vitamin E and calendula, it makes a fantastic treatment mask.  Whether you have dry skin, eczema or acne, this mask will return your skin to it’s original splendour.

This mask does need to be kept in the fridge ideally and used within three weeks as there are no preservatives in it.

Raw Manuka Honey Active 15+

Manuka honey rejuvenates the skin when applied topically. It is scientifically documented that it helps the formation of stronger collagen, makes the skin smoother and firmer, and that it assists in the cell renewal process, which keeps the skin youthful.

Manuka honey also penetrates deeply into the depth of skin tissue and helps to protect the skin against damage from free radicals.

Manuka honey stimulates the bodies immune system. Manuka honey is also especially effective in healing blemishes, acne, psoriasis, ringworm, eczema, wounds and scars. This is because of its special enzymes present, high level of antioxidants and antibacterial properties.
Manuka honey moisturises and nourishes the skin.

Rhassoul Morroccan Clay

This beauty clay’s official name is HECTORITE. Found deep beneath the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, Rhassoul comes from the Arabic word “rassala” meaning “washing’’.

It has been used for over 1400 years by nobles in ancient Rome and Egypt as a soap, shampoo, and skin conditioner. It has outstanding ability to cleanse, nourish and condition the skin and hair. In a traditional Hammam ritual, the clay is used from head to toe after the Beldi soap (black olive soap) and Kessa Glove and just before moisturising with Argan oil.

It contains higher percentages of silica, magnesium, potassium, calcium and other trace minerals than other clays. The clay not only works to remove impurities from your skin, it also replaces them with nourishing trace minerals. The clay’s high level of ions exchange makes it ideal for toning and enriching the skin.

Benefits of Rhassoul clay:

Makes skin less dry and flaky, improves skin texture
, clarity, elasticity and firmness
 and reduces surface oil. It
removes impurities, tightens pores, reduces the secretion of sebum
, makes it smoother and reduces the need to moisturise dry skin. The amazing natural benefits of the clay assist in treating:

▪    Eczema

▪    Psoriasis

▪    Acne

▪    Dry or oily patches

▪    All type of skin

▪    Sensitive skins
